Who is selling these masks?(BACK TO TOP)

Mushroomhead (the band) AKA Filthy Hands Co. are selling the masks directly to the public.

Why is the band selling their masks?(BACK TO TOP)

For a long time there have been several bootleg mask makers making everything from decent to absolutely embarrassing versions of our masks, ripping both us and you the fans off, as well as grossly misrepresenting our likeness and image.  We are not affiliated with any mask makers/sellers you see online other than on this site, or our official Ebay seller (mushroomhead_merch) at this time.  If you see a mask on any other site, or through any other Ebay seller, there is a good chance it is a fake.  We have occasionally offered our masks for sale at concerts, and sold a handful so far on Ebay, but we felt it was time to make them more accessible to everyone, in every part of the world.

Who makes these masks?(BACK TO TOP)

The original designs, sculpts, and paint schemes were made and designed by David H. Greathouse, the creator of all official band masks.  The masks being sold on this site are made from the same molds used to make the band member’s stage masks, and painted by a team of the band members themselves, talented hand picked artists closely affiliated with the band, as well as David H. Greathouse when time allows.   As production schedules for both the band and House are very unpredictable, so we cannot guarantee who it will be painted by, but we assure you the quality will be to our highest standards no matter who paints it.

What are these masks made of?(BACK TO TOP)

The masks are made of high grade professional mask latex, and high quality latex paints/coatings for a long lasting high quality mask.

I have a huge/minuscule head…and I want to wear the mask.  Will it fit me?(BACK TO TOP)

While masks can vary slightly in size from style to style, they may also vary slightly from mask to mask.  Most mask styles will comfortably fit a wide range of head sizes, however they may be less comfortable or unwearable by some.  If you are worried if a particular style will fit your head, feel free to email us your head measurements and we can help make a recommendation for you.

I feel like the masks are expensive…why do they cost this much?(BACK TO TOP)

Unlike commercial mask companies that have hundreds of molds for each mask, “paint by number” sweat shop style operations in other countries, and much lower grade materials, each of these masks was made with painstaking attention in detail from concept of the original sculpts to completion of the final product.  There is only one mold for each mask made from the original sculpt and same mold that was used to make every one of the band’s stage masks.  Aside from the initial sculpture and molding, the pouring of the latex, drying, multiple layers, and highly detailed paint job can take anywhere from 12-24 hours or more per mask.  This on top of cost of materials to make the mask, marketing, etc… very little is made off of the end product.  We keep the prices as low as possible to still be able to give you the highest quality product possible that you will be as proud to display or wear as we were making it.

What masks are currently available and when will others be available?(BACK TO TOP)

Due to production schedules and times, there are only certain masks in pre-determined designs readily available at all times.  As this website matures we will offer other styles, options for custom orders, props, costumes, and more.  For now, what you see on the site is what is available at this time.

How can I find out when new styles, or other items will become available?(BACK TO TOP)

Sign up on our mailing list here or watch for updates on our myspace and facebook pages located here.

What are the definitions of each of the different styles of masks?(BACK TO TOP)

Plain -  This is a standard black and white mask, black base with white details (such as x-face)

Semi Deluxe – This is a detailed multi color paint job very similar to stage used masks

Deluxe – This is an even more detailed paint job with extra accents and accessories.

Ultra Deluxe – This is as close as possible to a stage mask that the band members wear with airbrushed detail and distressed accessories to give the stage worn look. (please allow1 extra week of production time for Ultra Deluxe Masks) (These will be made available soon)

Will my mask look just like the photos on the website? (BACK TO TOP)

As each mask is hand painted by several artists no two masks will be exactly the same, but will match as close as possible to the photo of the mask you order.

For the deluxe version masks, are the accessories authentic?(BACK TO TOP)

All deluxe masks that include accessories (such as headphones, dreadlocks, helmets, etc..) are made from the same or very similar items that the actual band members accessories are made.  Keep in mind that using actual found materials, look of the accessories will vary slightly from one another.

How can I display my mask?(BACK TO TOP)

When checking out, you can add a foam head to your order for $6 (available soon).  We may offer plexiglass display cases in the future.

What are my payment options?(BACK TO TOP)

We will accept credit cards via Paypal, and money orders via mail.  We prefer Paypal as it is the safest and quickest method of payment we accept.

What if I don’t have a Paypal account?(BACK TO TOP)

No worries.  You don’t need to have or set up an account in order to use your credit card through Paypal.

How long will it take to receive my mask?(BACK TO TOP)

At current rate of production please allow 2-4 weeks for production of your hand made and hand painted mask to be completed.  Each mask is made to order.  We will typically not have any backstock of masks on hand.   Once your mask is completed, please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.  We will notify you via email when your mask has been completed.

How will my mask be shipped?(BACK TO TOP)

We will ship either via FedEx or United States Postal Service.  The mask will be carefully packaged in a box, and on a foam head if you order one, or stuffed with paper otherwise.  The package will be insured for the amount of your purchase, and you will be emailed with tracking information within 24 hours of when  it has shipped.

Can I order these masks in bulk at wholesale?(BACK TO TOP)

We currently have no plans to offer these for wholesale as the production time per mask is too great to produce them quickly enough for a wholesale demand.  We will take inquiries and discuss possible discounts on orders of multiples for retail on small scale such as costume shops, but this will again be on a very limited basis due to production time per mask.
